Everyone is welcome on Setup Days!

Setup Days are the biggest volunteer days of the season with at least 150 volunteers needed! Bring your friends, family or co-workers to join in the fun of this two-day setup of all the Christmas Storybook Land scenes! Having coworkers volunteer as a “group” is a great way to build teams while helping the local community. Contact us to bring your team.

The day starts at 9 a.m. with the unloading of the 11 semi-trailers jam-packed with all the Storybook Land scenery. Volunteers deliver the scenery to their designated locations. After unloading the trailers, there is a short, well-deserved break for refreshments. (Donuts anyone?) Then volunteers head to a section and begin unloading the barrels and creating the scenes with the help of scene pictures and a section leader.

A free lunch is served for all the wonderful volunteers, and then it is back to work to complete setting up scenes, putting lights on trees, adding backdrops, fencing and all the finishing touches that make Christmas Storybook Land come alive.

Sign up for the morning shift (9 a.m. to noon) or afternoon shift (12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.) or BOTH!

Youth from high schools, middle schools, scouts and other youth organizations are encouraged to participate. A volunteer work validation form is available for youth to receive community service hours.

Dress warmly. Coat, hat, gloves, and sturdy shoes are recommended.

Sign up to be part of Setup Day on the volunteer page.

Materials for each display are stored in barrels. The barrels need to be carried in for each display.

It is a great day for friends to volunteer together as well. Students can also get school credit for their volunteer hours.

Many displays have smaller parts that are easy for our younger helpers to carry in.

Hand trucks are available for items too large or awkward to carry.

A forklift is on site for items too large or heavy to carry.

Volunteers work together to carry large items.

Lunch is provided for all volunteers on Setup Day.

ARE YOU A BUSINESS?

Having employees volunteer as a group is a great way to build teams while volunteering for the local community.
