While pushing wheelchairs, volunteers spend quality time getting to know our honored guests to make their visit special.

Friendly Santa and Mrs. Claus are needed to provide that personal touch at the end of the tour.

Elves and costume characters are needed to entertain and delight our guests.

Two Train operators are needed for morning and afternoon shifts. They help prevent derailing. Volunteers operate either model HO scale or G-Scale train layouts.

A great way to honor our valued citizens!

A group of at least 35 fun-loving, able-bodied people who can push wheelchairs are needed to greet over 700 seniors, veterans, and special needs citizens from assisted living facilities throughout the Willamette Valley on this one-day event.

Helpers assist with unloading visitors from vans and accompany or push visitors in wheelchairs through the venue. Those with the “gift of gab” who enjoy talking to older folks are especially welcomed. Our goal is to make every visitor feel special—for many this is the highlight of their Christmas season.

Guests enjoy a visit with Santa at the end of the tour and receive a small gift. Anyone wishing to donate items or funds to assist in providing small gifts please contact us.

Helpers are equipped with an identification badge and flashlight. Tours run from 10 am to 3 pm but helpers can sign up for a morning or afternoon shift. A provided hot soup lunch allows helpers to gather and socialize. Wear your smile and dress warmly as the venue is not heated. For more information contact the Senior Day Coordinator.

We also need Train Operators familiar with N, HO, or G-Scale trains and a Santa and Mrs. Claus for each shift.

Please review the following items prior to volunteering:

Pre-registration and scheduling are required to participate. On arrival, check in at the sign-in table to receive your name badge before participating.
