Does your child want to play a character?
Children under 13 accompanied by an adult are invited to volunteer as roaming costumed characters at the event. Children 13 and over may register themselves under Elves and Costume Characters 13 to 17 to participate.
A Parent/Guardian Release for Participation signed by a parent/guardian is required for each child as well as online Volunteer Registration by the parent/guardian. Children and their accompanying adults will work under the direction of the Costumed Characters Coordinator. All costumes are provided. Shifts are 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
An orientation for all Costumed Characters will be held at the Volunteer Sign Up Night the last Thursday in October at the Fairground’s Conference Rooms to acquaint you with all the procedures and answer questions so the experience will be fun for all. Contact the Costume Coordinator for more information.
Important items to complete for children to participate as characters:
- Pre-registration and scheduling by the accompanying adult is required for the child to participate. The child’s name is added under “accompanying children” on the adult registration.
- A signed Parent Release Form for minors under the age of 18 is required for the child to participate.
- Read Costume Character Guidelines for Children under 13 before participating.

Kids can participate as a character or an elf.
-
Volunteering with friends is fantastic, but they do need to be accompanied by an adult.
-
Christmas Storybook Land can be quite cold, so warm costume choices are always best.
